Poland applies once-only principle in its social services
The polish government is boosting the modernization of administrative services by implementing the once-only principle (OOP) to its social services. This was announced by Anna Streżyńska, Minister of Digitisation on 16 January 2017. The Polish government will start applying the OOP to the baby bonus – which is a part of financial aid for families.
Parents shall no longer be required to show their birth certificate and or to give standard information to the authorities when they apply for financial support. They will just have to apply online and the administration will complete the application form by using the information it already has. These services have been added to the information portal Emp@tia.
The final goal of OOP by the Polish government is to make governmental services available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
For the application of its eGovernment services the ministry is cooperating with three large banks to use their online banking services for the identification and authentification of Polish citizens.
